New Years 2011/12
Suffice to say this has been an amazingly large week! I've driven over 2,000km, I've accepted and started a new job (I've become a Potato! More on this later) and, most excitingly of all, I've welcomed a new member into my family (and also thus integrated into another extended family).
Congratulations to
my brother Scott and his now fiancé Alina! It was an incredible night (New Year's Eve) made even more amazing and I wish them all the best for what I no doubt will be a busy year!
I also got to catch up with friends from undergrad I haven't been able to see for an age, visiting friends and family and finally a heat wave to ensure I melt to a mushy goop resembling a Kane... Like, dare I say, mash potato?
So... I'm a potato? Let me explain... It's from the acronym PTO (Patient Transport Officer) and is the affectionate nickname for those stuck in the health system running patients to and fro. With a paramedical background it was an expected detour from my studies as a way to get some pocket money whilst I study... I do need something to help with the bills and despite lining up potential employment during the year this has turned into some much needed financial assistance - albeit at a painful cost (as those who have been stuck out in the fields - potato's - can attest to).
In other news, preparing for a big move to Sale and getting myself ready for yet another year of intense medical study!
